A R Rahmans If I rise nominated in the World Soundtrack Awards for Best original Song

Isai Puyal A R Rahman has once again stepped into uncharted territories as his fruitful collaboration with 127 Hours Danny Boyle’s earns him another international nomination. The song ‘If I Rise’ will compete in the World Soundtrack Awards for the ‘Best original song written directly for a film’ category. “The event will be held at Ghent, Belgium on October 22, 2011” announced and elated Rahman.

ARR has been on an international spree lately. The prolific composer enthralled Hollywood A-listers at the North Highland Avenue,Hollywood, CA earlier performing alongside the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He gave a big surprise to fellow Rahmaniacs by announcing his collaboration with the International super group – Super Heavy which also stars rock ‘n’ roll legend and Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger. Both the releases ‘Satyameva Jayate’ and ‘Miracle worker’ by his band have been well received. On the Kollywood front he has Superstar Rajinikanth’s Rana,Gautham Menon and Vijay starrer – detective offering Yohan : Adhyayam Ondru and then there is the big coming-together with mentor Mani Ratnam in a new movie, untitled as of now.
